A lifelong outdoorsman, painter Jim Bortz relates his experiences in the field through his art. With a bold impressionistic style built on a solid foundation of strong drawing skills, Bortz's work strikes a balance of honest believability and a contemporary palette. Jim makes his home in Cody, Wyoming where he has access to all the subjects he loves to paint. Exploring the rugged wilderness of the Rocky Mountain West provides endless inspiration.
Bortz's work has appeared in the Buffalo Bill Art Show and has been regularly included in the prestigious Birds In Art exhibit. The Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum has several pieces in their permanent collection.
